About me…
I’m Kerianne Brown, LCSW-C, and I am passionate about helping people find their way to a more fulfilling and authentic life, whatever that looks like for you. As a psychotherapist, I see myself as your navigation guide, a steady presence as you chart your own course. (If you’re a fan of Legend of Zelda, think Navi). I’m here to support you on your quest, offering encouragement and insight, but you’re always the one holding the controller.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in deep respect for your unique journey. I believe therapy works best when you’re in the driver’s seat. If you ever find yourself heading toward danger, avoiding what’s hard, or at risk of harming yourself or others, I’ll step in and gently help you course-correct. And if your younger parts show up along the way, I’ll invite us to pause and tend to their needs together before moving forward.
I work with individuals, partner(s), and families, and I have a special focus on supporting people impacted by trauma and addiction. I’m passionate about helping you understand what’s happening in your body and mind, so you can make choices that truly align with your values, ethics, and goals.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent seven years in neurodevelopmental research focused on ADHD at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, which continues to inform my work. I’ve also taught yoga full-time for two years in New York and seven years in Baltimore, and I often integrate somatic practices into therapy. My clinical toolbox includes Brainspotting, EMDR, trauma-informed CBT, Parts-work, and experiential modalities. My practice is grounded in relational healing and attunement.
I hold a B.F.A. in Acting from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and an M.S.W. from the University of Maryland Baltimore’s School of Social Work, where I specialized in addiction as a BHWISE SUDIF Fellow.
Above all, I’m here to walk alongside you by offering support, insight, and a safe space to discover what healing and growth mean for you.
